2015 marks the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo, so we have compiled a unique and varied collection of maps, battle plans, portraits, printed ephemera, scenes and more to help illustrate the significance of the most important military battle of the 19th century. In June 1815 Wellington, with his British and Allied army, faced Napoleon, with his French Imperial Guard. They were the same age, formidable strategists and had a string of victories behind them.
